Track etched polycarbonate filter membranes (PCTE)


Track etched polycarbonate (PCTE) filter membranes are made with a thin film of microporous polycarbonate material and are typically used for:
  • generic filtration
  • removal of red blood cells from plasma
  • flow control of reagents during analysis
  • precise filtration and pre-filtration

 

They are ideal for use in the filtration of blood, high purity and generic samples.

Standard membranes are hydrophilic due to the treatment they undergo.

Hydrophobic membranes are also available.


The PCTE membrane is made with a patented two-step manufacturing process, which applies high quality standards.

This unique process allows for greater control over pore size and density to ensure that the physical properties of each membrane precisely match your specifications.

The resulting membrane is a thin, translucent, microporous polycarbonate film with a smooth, flat surface.

All particles larger than the pore size are captured on its surface.

It is ideal for use when collecting samples for blood or urine tests, or for general purpose high purity filtration.

 

The PCTE membrane has many features and advantages.

  • Absolute Pore Size and Density: Provides flow control for liquids passing through the membrane by capturing 100 percent of cells larger than pore sizes
  • Smooth, thin, glass-like surface: the planar surface makes it ideal for detecting particles with the microscope
  • Superior strength: 207 bar (> 3000 psi) tensile strength maintains pore size and density and does not deform
  • Reduced release of extractable substances: guarantees that the tests are sterile guaranteeing homogeneous results
  • Low protein absorption
  • Negligible Absorption / Adsorption: Optimizes recovery of critical solutions
  • Available in hydrophilic or hydrophobic format - allows for a wide range of product applications
Available in different types of porosity and diameter, in packs of 100 pieces.
